BY KRISTI FISH | MIRROR REPORTER — The Maumee Athletic Department has opened registration for several summer camps for Maumee students of all ages.
The camps will bring future and current high school athletes together with current MHS coaches.
“The summer camps through our Maumee Athletic Department are used as an opportunity to give back, serve our community and build interest in our programs,” said Maumee athletic director Cam Coutcher. “We teach fundamentals and provide the youth with a fun atmosphere to spend time with our players and coaches.”
Coutcher said the coaches and Maumee High School athletes who help run the camps are excited to meet with future MHS Panthers.
Together, the children and athletic staff will learn more about each other and the students can gauge interests in particular sports.
“Building relationships is the key to creating an environment people want to be a part of,” Coutcher explained. “Our players and coaches feel rewarded when the camps are over and the kids who participate are excited about Maumee athletics. It’s a win-win.”
