Three New Businesses Open In Maumee MarketPlace Mall

BY MIKE McCARTHY | MIRROR EDITOR — Three new shops have joined three established businesses in the Maumee MarketPlace mall located at the corner of Reynolds Road and Dussel Drive in Maumee. The shopping center also includes Cornerstone Church and the Maumee Antique Mall. Following are brief profiles on each of the six businesses located in the southern portion of the mall:

HiiT 419

HiiT 419 stands for “high intensity interval training” within the 419 area. The fitness center has been open since May and is owned and operated by Jill and Drew Long. Drew is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and Jill serves as a nurse on the St. Vincent Medical Center Life Flight. The couple shares a passion for keeping physically fit, and Drew and Jill are excited to share their expertise with their clients.

For just $50.00 per month, clients can enjoy unlimited 30-minute workouts during the week. Individuals pace themselves through 10 fitness stations with three minutes allocated for each station. Kickboxing, heavy bag work, free weights and other fitness equipment are all utilized in the high-intensity workouts. Clients of all fitness levels are welcome, and workouts can be modified to accommodate everyone’s fitness level. Those who wish to give it a try are welcome to a free workout.

Owned and operated by Danny Rodela, Forever Faded Barber Studio is brightly lit and beautifully decorated with comfortable furnishings and a beautiful epoxy floor. Danny has been cutting hair for 15 years and has been professionally licensed for the past six years. He opened the salon four months ago and has plans to expand the business with the addition of a second stylist in the coming weeks.

Forever Faded Barber Studio will host its grand opening on Sunday, October 23 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Big C’s Smoked BBQ and Mountain Road Coffee food trucks will be on-site and the public is welcome to check out the new salon with Danny and his wife, Ariana.

Licensed massage therapist Mary Ann McGill has been operating Arrowhead Massage Therapy at 1514 Reynolds Rd. since October of 2005 and enjoys serving her loyal clientele.

Among her specialties are massages in the following diverse categories: relaxation, deep tissue, repetitive use injury, hot stone, cupping, medical and sports. Mary Ann also specializes in Reiki, which is an energy-healing technique that promotes relaxation and reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. She is also Bureau of Workers’ Compensation-certified in massage.

Located at 1508 Reynolds Rd., All Star Driver Education is operated by David Hawley, who serves as regional manager. The company offers 20 instructors in the Toledo area and helps students master the driving skills necessary to qualify for their Ohio driver’s license. Students must be at least 15-1/2 years old and possess a learner’s permit to participate in the program.

The company offers classroom and in-car training to its students. The program consists of 24 hours of classroom training and eight hours of in-car instruction, the latter of which features four separate two-hour driving sessions utilizing different driving routes so that students encounter various driving situations. The cars are located on the premises as an added convenience.

The company also offers training to people who wish to become certified driving instructors. An adult-abbreviated four-hour class is also available for drivers who may have failed their first driving test.
