
BY ANDY ROWER | MIRROR SPORTS — Maumee’s boys golf team primed itself for the Northern Lakes League championships with a trio of regular season matches last week.
Southview 167, MHS 216
The Panthers’ latest competition ended in a 49-stroke loss to the Cougars at Heather Downs Country Club on September 12.
Senior Jackson Albright led Maumee on the day with a nine-hole score of 50 and sophomore Caleb Batey added a 52.
Sophomore Andrew Bick and freshman Max Rosenberger rounded team scoring out with a pair of 57s and senior Michael Stamm and freshman Eric Smith both turned in 59s.
Napoleon 175, MHS 210
A day earlier, the Panthers combined for their second-best nine-hole score of the season during a 35-stroke loss to the Wildcats at Heather Downs.
Albright again led the way for Maumee with a 50, but this time he was joined by Rosenberger.
Batey next contributed a 54 and Smith closed things out at 56. Bick and Stamm ended up with a 58 and a 62, respectively.
BG 175, MHS 230
The Panthers began the week with a 55-stroke loss to the Bobcats at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Batey was the frontrunner this time around with a 54, Bick and Rosenberger each added 57s and Albright shot a 62.
Stamm and Smith posted additional Maumee scores of 64 and 65.
Girls
The Panthers girls team placed fifth in its only NWOGGL match of the week with a score of 267 at South Toledo Golf Club.
Sophomore Skyelar War-ncke led Maumee on the day with a score of 64 and freshman Mia Felzer followed close behind at 65.
Fellow freshmen Beverly O’Neil and Macy Butler next shot a pair of 69s and classmates Kasey Mills and Adebisi Arowolo closed things out with an 82 and an 86.
