Burton Leads Maumee Bowling Team In 2,223-1,751 Win Over Springfield

BY ANDY ROWER | MIRROR SPORTS — Senior Sam Burton led Maumee’s bowling team to a 2,223-1,751 win over Springfield at Southwyck Bowling Lanes on January 24.

Burton posted the Northern Lakes League’s sixth-highest two-game series score of the week with a 395. In addition to a 192, his 203 was the week’s seventh-highest score.

Junior Sam Wolfe followed up with a 361 (179, 182), senior Sam Stain-brook added a 346 (177, 169) and classmates Hadyn Schroeder and Mason Lather contributed a 304 (168, 136) and a 272 (123, 149).

The Panthers improved to 5-4 with the win.

Junior Brody Cline paced the Blue Devils with a score of 282 (130, 152).

Sophomore Jordan Bombick next rolled a 276 (109, 167), senior Hasson Williams notched a 261 (134, 127), freshman Sam Keller turned in a 242 (130, 112) and freshman Jacob White chipped in a 218 (108, 110).

Springfield dropped to 0-9 with the loss.
