WHAT'S NEW AT THE ZOO

The Toledo Zoo has announced the following events and arrivals. For more information, call (419) 385-4040 or visit www.toledozoo.organd click on the “Zoo Events” button. The Toledo Zoo is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily and is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail, four miles south of downtown Toledo.

Feast with the Beasts Friday, July 18– Five-course gourmet dinner and an auction featuring unique and unusual items; proceeds benefit the zoo. Advance reservations are required. Call (419) 385-5721, ext. 2091.

Christmas in July Friday, July 25 – Join the zoo for some Yuletide fun in the summertime. Zoo animals will receive presents filled with species-appropriate treats with a festive flair.

Fisher-Price Play Weekend – Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27 –Children from 6 months to 5 years will love exploring new toys, including the newest Fisher-Price Power Wheels. They’ll also get to meet Diego on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Planet Heroes Mars Digger and Earth Ace on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For information about “Dining with Diego” opportunity on Sunday, visit www.toledozoo.org.

Americans with Disabilities Information Fair – Monday, July 28 – Ninety area organizations will offer information about products and services available to individuals with disabilities. For more information, contact the Ability Center at (419) 885-5733.

Arts Gone Wild – Friday through Monday, August 8-11 –This four-day summer festival explores the diverse cultural offerings in the Toledo area. Visit www.artsgonewild.org to sign up for an e-newsletter with more details.

Rock ’n’ Roar – Friday, August 15 –Four bands will be featured at this 21-and-older event. Tickets are $20.00 for zoo members and $21.00 for nonmembers.

Music Under the Stars – Sundays through August 31–The Toledo Symphony Concert Band returns for its 56th season. Admission is free for this Toledo tradition, which features some great pops performances in the zoo’s historic amphitheatre.
