Volunteer Naturalists Training Course Announced

The OSU Extension/Lucas County and the Metroparks of the Toledo Area are recruiting for 2010 classes for Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Training.

This is an intensive eight-week training course covering topics such as ornithology, entomology, watersheds, geology, soils and wildlife. Upon completion of the classes, individuals are required to complete 40 hours of volunteer service to become certified.

Classes will be held on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Interested parties should contact Lee Richter at (419) 578-6783 for more information and an application packet. The deadline for applications is Monday, June 21.
