Miriam G. (Oakes) Fansler, age 96, formerly of Maumee, passed away on Wednesday, February 9.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she always remained a New Yorker at heart. A dedicated mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, William (Gloria) Fansler; daughters, Susan (David) Raszka and Jody (Neal) Weiker; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister in-law, Arline Cornelius; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and several siblings.
Family and friends were received on February 11 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home in Maumee, where services were conducted at noon. Interment was private. The family suggests memorial donations to Lutheran Social Services or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Marceil A. “Marcie” King, age 89, of Maumee, passed away on Saturday, February 9.
Born in Toledo on May 2, 1929 to Charles and Mary Ellen (Murphy) Stewart, she attended the Whitney Vocational School in Toledo and was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society.
Mrs. King is survived by her sons, Allan (Felicia), Joseph (Tracey), John (Marrice), Kenneth (Kim), Bernard (Karen), Howard (Sheryl) and Paul (Karen) King; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Marion Stewart; and brother in-law, John Knapp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (2002); sisters, Alicemae Justen and Clarellen Knapp; and brother, Charles Stewart, Jr.
Family and friends were received on February 14 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home in Maumee. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, February 14 at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
