Maumee Boys Split With Rossford And Swanton

BY ANDY ROWER | MIRROR SPORTS — Maumee’s boys golf team posted its best nine-hole score of the season during a 173-188 victory over Rossford at Cros-swinds Golf Course on September 24. Senior Evan McCon-aughey led the Panthers with an individual mark of 40 and classmate Quinn Deitering followed close behind at 42. Juniors Michael Stamm and Jackson Albright rounded out team scoring with a 45 and a 46 and freshman Andrew Bick and senior Hadyn Schroeder turned in unused scores of 48 and 52. Maumee’s previous season low was a 190, shot in a win over Otsego on September 20. Swanton 191, MHS 213 Two days later, the Panthers suffered a 22-stroke loss to Swanton at Valleywood Golf Course. This time around, Deitering paced Maumee with a 47 and McConaughey added a 50. Stamm and Albright closed scoring out with scores of 56 and 60 and Bick and Connor Mouch ended up with a 67 and a 72. The Bulldogs’ Austin Luce earned medalist honors on the day by shooting a 44. Randy Slink next shot a 46, Zach Schaller contributed a 48 and Brady Lemons tacked on a 53. The Panthers ended their nine-hole season by averaging 206.6 as a team. Individually, Deitering led Maumee with an average score of 44.8, followed by Stamm (52.7), McConaughey (53.9), Albright (55.4), Schroeder (56.7) and Bick (59.6).
